The 14th century Church of Tsminda
Sameba is a wonderful hike from Kazbegi, with some of the most beautiful
scenery in the region, and the silhouette of the little church adorns
many books and magazines relating to the area.

With the massive peak of Mount Kazbek
behind you, which at over 5000m is one of the highest in Europe, the
little town ofStepantsminda is dwarfed by the massive peaks in the
background, which separate Georgia from neighbouring Chechnya.
